Disabled friendly options
Accessibility options at Beachcombers
Navigating Cornwall has become easier with the help of groups such as Disability Cornwall who supply specialist beach buggies for sand use. At Watergate Bay there are disabled parking spaces in the car park and sloping paths down to the beach. The path between The Beach Hut and beach also makes for a great viewing area. Fifteen Cornwall provide a stair lift to access the restaurant and the restaurant and bathroom at The Beach Hut are fully accessible by wheelchair.
Other accessible attractions specifically catering for wheelchair users include some of The National Trust properties. At Lanhydrock they have a special Tramper vehicle is available to hire to get around the grounds in winter as well as wheelchairs for use in the building. The Eden Project also provides manual and powered wheelchairs for free as well as allowing free entry for personal assistants. Similarly, many attractions such as Newquay Zoo offer reduced admission prices for disabled visitors and their helpers.
Attractions such as Trebah Gardens or The Lost Gardens of Heligan provide wheelchair friendly maps as well as free use of wheelchairs and discounted entry.
At Beachcombers we offer accessible apartments situated on the ground floor level with the car park. Further apartments can be reached via a lift. For those requiring physical help, Apartment 3 is recommended.
